Emily A. Hessinger, 88, formally of Clinton Corners and Rhinebeck, passed away Monday, February 5, 2007, at her home in Stanfordville.

Mrs. Hessinger received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Dutchess Community College and worked as a Registered Nurse at Hudson River State Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She also served on the Nursing Advisory Committee at Dutchess Community College and was a member of CSEA.

She was a communicant of the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck.

Born May 19, 1918 in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of Charles and Barbara (Gubler) Ellsworth.

Her husband, Emil Hessinger, passed away on June 21, 2004.

Mrs. Hessinger is survived by three daughters, Patricia Doyle, and her husband James, of Wappingers Falls; Lynne Verlin, and her husband William, of Hilton Head, SC; and Sharon Kelly of Stanfordville; four step-children, Carl Hessinger, and his wife MaryAnn of Champion, PA; Robert Hessinger, and his wife Cindy of Erie, PA; Fred Hessinger and his wife Donna, of Erie, PA; and Karen, and her husband Bob, of Erie, PA; a step daughter-in-law Cheryl Hessinger of Erie, PA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son-in-law Thomas Kelly; a step-son Richard Hessinger; a sister Della Conley; and a brother Clifford Ellsworth.

Calling hours are Wednesday, February 7th, 4 to 7 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market St., Rhinebeck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 8th, 10 AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck. Private interment will be in the Vedders Cemetery, Gallatin.
