Pheriba "Phebe" W. Agerter, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Seneca House, Tiffin.

She was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Birmingham, Ala., to Wade and Etta (Payne) Beaver. She married Raymond Peter Paul Agerter April 29, 1949, in Greenup, Ky.

Survivors include two daughters, Amy (Alan) Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Joy (Edward) Scherger of Tiffin; a son, Raymond "Butch" P. Agerter Jr. of McCutchenville; a brother, Clint Beaver of Crystal Lake, Ill.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Raymond; a brother, Fonz Beaver; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Barbara.

Phebe worked as an administrative assistant at Heidelberg College for years and was a member of the Heidelberg Fellows. She spent her childhood years at the Junior Home and graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and Tiffin University with a business secretarial degree. She was a member of Tiffin Elks Lodge No. 94, Red Hat Society, Y-Wives, Mohawk Country Club and Clinton Heights Golf Course where she was past club champion at both. Phebe and her husband were members of Cotillion Club and were mink breeders.

A private family service will take place with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.
