Opal Counts
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Vernonia Community Church for Opal Golda Counts of Eugene, who died Nov. 25 of age 85. The family chose not to list the cause of death.
She was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Jewell to Jack and Dessie Vinson May.
She married Arnold Counts on May 15, 1943, in Vancouver, Wash. He died in 2001.
She graduated from high school in Vernonia. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Randall of Eugene; two brothers, Dick May of Dallas and Jack May of Beaverton; a sister, Inetta Mitchel of McMinnville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Sandra Black, died previously.
