Hilda M. Baune, 81, a Nezperce homemaker, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Cottonwood of age-related causes.

She was born Oct. 6, 1920, at Nezperce to John and Emma Koepl.

She was a lifelong resident of Nezperce. She graduated from Nezperce High School in 1938 and married George A. Baune Oct. 1, 1940, at Nezperce. He preceded her in death in 1974.

She graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in 1972.

She was an avid sports fan when members of her family played. She enjoyed crafts and oil painting. She was a member of the Catholic church.

She is survived by two sons, Edward J., and Donald W.; four daughters, Camille J., Suzanne L., Teresa E., and Leanne; one sister; one brother; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Nick L. and Stephen C. Baune; a daughter, Mary Donna Likkel; two brothers; and one sister.

Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church at Nezperce. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery at Nezperce.
