A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 101 Lloyd Drive, Grants Pass. Private interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Williams was born March 15, 1930, in Bay City. He graduated from Bay City High School in 1948 and earned a degree in industrial engineering from Oregon State College in 1952. On March 23, 1952, in Eugene, he married Lauretta Jean Vanoose, who died Aug. 17, 1997. From 1953 to 1973, he served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired with the rank of major. He moved to Grants Pass in 1973 from Los Angeles. In 1978, along with his partners, he started Henderson and Daughter Storm Windows, which later became Sun Loc of Southern Oregon, specializing in solar energy applications.
He was a member of the Grants Pass central congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was baptized in June 1973. He was active in church projects. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working.
Survivors include a son, Derek Williams of Beaverton; a brother, Darold Williams of Scappoose; a sister, Mary Pitelka of Brookfield, Ill.; and a grandson.
