Mrs. Winifred Blackie


Mrs. Winifred Blackie, wife of the Rev. W.R. Blackie, pastor of the Memorial Methosidst Episcopal Church of Nepperhan, died at her home at 21 Tuckahoe Road, on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after an illness of six weeks.
Mrs. Blackie was born at Morristown, N.J., about 50 years ago. She came to Yonkers for the first time to reside in 1905, when Mr. Blackie took a charge at Morsemere Methodist Episcopal Church for two years. After this they moved to Ardsley where they remained for seven years. The Woodlawn Heights Methodist Church was their next charge until they moved to Nepperhan Heights in March, this year. Mrs. Blackie for a number of years has been District Secretary of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the New York Conference M.E. Church.
Mrs. Blackie is survived by her husband, three sons, William R., Jr., Oscar and Steward, and a sister, Mrs. A. Hutchinson.
The funeral will take place in the Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. The interment will be in Meridan, N.J.
