Sad Mr. Wm Strahan, a young man about 22 years of age, accidentally killed himself at the house of Mr. James Webster, near Williamsburg, last Sunday night. It seems that there was no one at Mr. Webster's except some ladies and late in the night they imagined they heard someone trying to break in the house, and becoming frightened they summoned aid from the house of Mr. Straham, about a half a mile distant. Young Strahan came, and search proving their fears groundless, he went in the house and leaned his gun, which was cocked, against the mantle piece. In moving about, the gun was jarred, it is supposed, causing the hammer to fall which sent the whole load of buckshot through his head, killing him almost instantly. The accident is to be deeply deplored, but it is to be hoped that this will be an example which will be profited by those who are so careless, and who are constantly playing with guns.
