William O. Burger, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, in a local hospital.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a salesman with Cleveland Milling Company for 35 years and also served with the Public Service Unit with Cleveland Police Dept. for several years. He was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gardner and Ollie Parker Burger.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Drucilla Curtis Burger of Cleveland; two children and their spouses: Jimmy and Barbara Burger, and Vicki and Michael Brown, all of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Lesley Burger Price and husband Steve, Keri Burger Gaylor and husband Chris, Amy Brown Reece and husband Brad, and Tyler Brown, all of Cleveland; and one great granddaughter, Lydia Price of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Lyle White officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release ceremony.

His family will receive friends Sunday from 1 – 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
