She was the daughter of the late James F. Gibbs and Patsy L. Gibbs, and the
widow of Alton Wayne Best.
She is survived by one son, Talmadge W. Best and his wife, Margaret of Stumpy
Point; two grandchildren, Susan B. White of Nags Head and Jeffery D. Best of
Williamston; three great-grandchildren: John T.D. White of Nags Head, and
Kristen and Emily Best of Williamston.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Mark Wayne Best.
A funeral service will be conducted Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Burial will take place in the
church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Talmadge and
Margaret Best in Stumpy Point. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of
these arrangements.
