Reburial services for Capt. Allen W. Erck, who died in a hospital in France September 4, 1944, will be held at 11 a. m. Friday at Fort Sam Houston with burial in the national cemetery there.

Erck was with the Third Armored Division, and was wounded at Liege, Belgium. He died three days later.

Erck was born at Brenham and was graduated from San Marcos High School and Texas A&M College. He entered the Army as a second lieutenant September 25, 1942 and went overseas in 1943. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Cluster and the Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lavenia G. Erck and a 5-year-old son, Jimmy Erck; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Erck; two brothers, Curtis V. Erck and William J. Erck, Dallas.

Capt. Allen William Erck, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Erck [A. William Erck and Esther Ott] of Dallas, was born Dec. 22, 1918. A 1940 graduate of Texas A&M College. Entered the service Feb. 28, 1942; was assigned to 3rd Armored Division. Capt. Erick was overseas from Sept. 1943 to Sept. 1944. Participated in the battles of Les Hauts Vents, St. Lo, Normandy break-through, Argentan-Falaise Gap. Fought across France with the Spearhead Division. Was fatally wounded in drive on Mons near the Belgium border Sept. 1. 1944, and died Sept. 4, 1944 in a hospital in France. Buried in United States Cemetery, Solers, west of Paris, France. Awarded Bronze Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
