Gerald Douglas Adams passed away December 6, 2010 following complications from heart surgery. He is preceded in death by parents, Douglas and Tennie Adams; sister, Carolyn Thompson and sister and brother-in-law, Litsa and John Altman. Gerald was born February 11, 1937 in Quanah, TX. He grew up in Lubbock, TX where he graduated from Monterey High School and attended Texas Tech. He moved to Dallas and began his career with REA Express-Dallas in 1960 and after driving for several companies retired from Best Way Freight Co. -Dallas in 2001. Gerald loved his home and working in his yard and he could fix anything. He was a true perfectionist and didn't give up until it was right. He was a talented musician and could play several instruments but mostly loved to play the guitar with Max and sing with Popi. He loved Old Time Gospel, Country Western and Blue Grass. He was a Mason, he loved to play golf and was always ready for the next tee time. He loved animals and was at peace with the world when BO-BO was sitting with him in his chair. Gerald loved Popi's cooking and was always so happy to have his grandchildren over to entertain. Gerald is survived by the love of his life, Penelope, with whom he shared more than 51 years of marriage; son, Max and wife, Matula; he was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Alexandra, Kostas and Nichole whom he adored; sister, Patsy and husband, John McAdam; brother, Melvin and wife, Roxie and many loving nieces and nephews. Gerald will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his family, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church family, his co-workers and all who knew and loved him. The prayer will be Thursday, Dec, 9, at 7 PM and the funeral at 10 AM, Friday, Dec 10, 2010 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at Alpha and Hillcrest Dr., Dallas, TX.
