During World War II, Ernest was in the US Army Air Corps, serving at Big Spring [TX] Bombardier Station as an aircraft mechanic.
He was an auto paint and body man, a member of the Church of the Nazarene and a near perfect husband and father. He had a wonderfully dry sense of humor that often had others wondering if he was serious or joking. He is greatly missed.
