ALBIA - John Peter Remmark, 81, a retired coal miner, died today at 1 a.m. at Ottumwa Hosptial.
He was born Jan. 31, 1889, in What Cheer, the son of Peter) John and Mary Olga Hoffman Remmark.
He married Fern Lane in June 1921. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harry Johnson of Albia; two sons, Ellsworth Remmark of Ottumwa and Phillip Remmark of Drakesville; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Lester Remmark of Albia, seven sisters, Mrs. Louie Raymie of Albia, Mrs. Asa Sullivan and Mrs. Louise Garrington of Newton, Mrs. Lucy Holmes of Wisconsin, Mrs. Edna Cole and Mrs. Frank of California, and Mrs. Clara Springer. He was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and two sisters.
Sevice arrangements are pending at Geyer-Lewis Funeral home.
