Bill George Spetsas passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010.

He was born April 21, 1928 to George D. Spetsas and Pearl Jane Gritton in Bingham Canyon, Utah and was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He married Diane McQuay, later divorcing, and is survived by daughters Christina Lopez, Stephanie Thayer, Laurie Spetsas, and Jennifer Spetsas (Alex), and granddaughters Nikki, Virginia (Josh), Alixandre, and Brooke. Bill married Janice Van in 1988, adding her children Sandy (Dennis) Johnson, Dwayne (Julie) Van, Richard (Elizabeth) Van, Jackie (David Porter) Van, and grandchildren Nikole, Zach, Cole, Tyler, Clay, Josh, Crystal, Becca, Jeremy, Kimberly, Katie, Christopher, and four great-grandchildren to his family.

Bill's career included working for Auerbach's Department Store, Bower's Furniture, and Kepco. Bill is preceded in death by his brothers Jim, Gus and George and his sisters, Matina, Athena and Helen. He is survived by his sister Mabel Sorenson.

Bill loved working in his garage and yard and helping anyone who needed it. If you needed something built or repaired, he was always up to the challenge - especially if it involved wood. He loved walking his faithful canine companions Bandit, and then Max, around the neighborhood, making friends along the way.

Funeral Services will be held at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning one hour prior to the services.
