Charles Eggleston was a prominent physician in the town of Natchitoches, LA. His first wife was a French Creole woman, name unknown, who died prior to 1848. On Jan. 9, 1849 Charles married Georgianne Evalina Bludworth. They had three children: Anna Corinne, Walter Hugh and John Emanuel(died at 3 month). In 1855 Charles went to New Orleans to help fight the Yellow Fever epidemic there. Just as the epidemic was comming to a close Charles fell ill and died in New Orleans on Oct. 9, 1855. Charles was brought home to Natchitoches and laid to rest next to his son, John, in the American Cemetery.
