Mary Ann McPherson was the first wife of D. N. Tillman. Her married name was spelled as Tillmon on her tombstone rather than Tillman as reflected on her husband's tombstone and memorial in another cemetery, Holly Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mary Ann married D. N. Tillman in 1865. During their marriage, they had the following children: Amanda, Charles N., Henry, Dora and Daniel. After Mary Ann's death in April, 1865, D. N. married Nancy J. Adams, a daughter of Robert Adams and Martha Jones Adams, on October 20, 1885 at her parents' home. D. N. and Nancy J. had three children: Samuel, Robert W. and John.

Information on D. N. Tillman's burial location with his second wife, Nancy J., their marriage and children, as well as, his CSA military record were provided to me by my Find A Grave friend, kellybean.
