SAN JOSE, Calif. - Former Lawrenceville, Ill., resident, Thomas P. 'Tom' Newell, 84, 5500 Cribari Bend, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Mission De La Casa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was former owner of Ribley/Newell Ford Garage and also Parriott and Newell Texaco Station.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Betty (Fee) Newell of San Jose; his son, Dennie Newell of Arroyo Grande; a daughter Karen Sue Stewart of San Jose; three sisters, Martha Rumble of Lawrenceville, Ill., Esther Spinner of La Quinta and Florence Bogert of San Jose; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 15 in the Villages Auditorium, San Jose. His remains will eventually be buried at the Lawrenceville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: Villages Medical Auxiliary, 5000 Cribari Lane, San Jose, CA 95135.
