MILES YOUNG DIES AT AGE 87
Former Columbus Resident Stricken in Michigan Hospital.
Miles W. Young, 87-year-old former resident of Columbus, died at 11:55 o'clock Thursday morning at Argentine, Mich., near Flint, in a convalescent hospital. He had been suffering from a heart condition, and was a patient at the hospital for the past month.
Mr. Young, a resident of Columbus for 56 years, was a general superintendent of the old Reeves Pulley company, and had his own furniture business. He moved to Flint six years ago where he had been residing with his son, Harry C. Young, divisional comptroller of the A.C. Sparkplug division of General Motors company.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Modern Woodmen, First Baptist church and Knights of Pythias, all of Columbus. He was born Feb. 11, 1866 in Marietta, O., the son of Harper and LaVina Hutchins Young.
In March 1886 he was married to Amanda Victoria Duncan, who preceded him in death in 1947.
Also surviving is another son, W. C. Young, of Lansing, Mich., two grandsons, Allen Young, Detroit and Maurice Young, Lansing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at the Hathaway funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Stanley Mugridge. Burial will be made at Garland Brook cemetery.
Masonic rites will be held at the graveside. The casket will be open at the funeral home after Saturday noon until time of services.
