Everyone knew him by "Strawberry" , a nickname given to him when he was a young boy and carried on to this day. He married Bertie Lou Day, who was born in Motpeiler, IN. He had 8 children, 19 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. There are more grand-children now , but I'm not sure how many more. He batteled cancer for a year in a half and passed away, December 26,1990. His spirit is still with us.
I was a Grandpa's Girl! Everywhere Grandpa went so did I! I was 12 years old when Grandpa passed away. I was angery that he passed & didn't stay here with me. Over the years I have grown. I still miss him & it's sad to think that my kids never did get the chance to meet Grandpa or Grandma. I do know they both smile down on my babies & all of my nieces & nephews everyday & love each one of them.
