Russell P. Zerby, 87, of Bellefonte, formerly of Snydertown, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Centre Community Hospital.

Born April 23, 1914, in Tusseyville, he was a son of the late Milligan and Mabel Zerby Lucas.

He married Ruth Walker, who died in 1977. He then married Helen Brown, who died in 1986. His third wife, Marie Long, whom he married on June 20, 1998, survives at home.

He was a self-employed butcher and farmer.

He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed buying and selling antiques.

In addition to his third wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Gates of Gatesburg; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miriam Fike.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Burns officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Walker Township.
