Calvin Althouse, aged 3 years, 3 months and 12 days, one of the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Althouse, of Cumberland Street, Avon. was poisoned under the most distressing circumstances on Friday afternoon.

The child, during the temporary absence of the parents, managed to get into a cabinet in the home, and finding a bottle of pills which were being used by one of the adult members of the household to check an attack of grippe, and ate the contents of the bottle. The child shortly after eating the medicine, was seen to gasp several times in agony, and then fell to the floor in convulsions. He died before medical assistance could be summoned.

The boy was a member of a large family in the Althouse household, and the parents and other children are overwhelmed with grief. Dr. John J. Light, the county coroner, was summoned and made an investigation and issued a death certificate in accordance with the facts in the case.

Undertaker Rohland is preparing the body for burial.
