MRS. DAVID WORKMAN

Linda Cournoyea was born near Silver Lake, August 12, 1874, and passed away Oct. 12, 1929, at the age of 65 years and two months.
Her childhood was spent near Silver Lake and at the age of 11 years, after the death of her mother, the family moved to St. Paul. She was of Catholic faith and she made her first communion at the French Catholic church in St. Paul.
When she was 20 years old she was united in marriage to David Workman, and has spent all her married life at Howard Lake. To this union six children were born, two prceding her in death.
In 1908 she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Howard Lake, of which she was a member until her death. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid and the Royal Neighbor Lodge of Howard Lake, of which she was charter member.
Mrs. Workman had been very well for some tim and on July 19 she entered the Eitel hospital, Minneapolis, where she underwent an operation. She was found to be suffering from cancer in a very advanced stage and it was too late to do anything for her. She was brought home Aug. 14 and had been confined to her bed every since, suffering greatly, but patiently until the end.
She leaves to morun her loss, her husband and four children: Vaughn, Mrs. Nelle (Wm.) Dokken, and Mrs. Lil (Orrin) Fisher and Byron; four sisters and five brothers.
Out-of-town people who were here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs.L. V. Rodecker and son, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Cournoyea and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Cournoyea and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norby Cournoyea and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Schauffhausen, Mrs. Matt Schauffhausen, Mr. and Mrs. Will McKee, Mr and Mrs. Clifford McKee, Mr and Mrs. Eli Clark, Ida Cournoyea, Mrs. G. H. Hulsick and daughter and Misses Minnie and Ida Hulsick, all of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Fuller, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Steffen and Mrs. Ellen Wood, of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Workman of Osceola, Wis.; Tom Workman and son Jim of Northfield; Mrs. Julia (Joe) Johnson of Cass Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McKee of Browns Valley.
