Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 27, 1991 for Ernestine Catherine Allery, 72, of Dunseith. She died Saturday, November 23, 1991 at Dunseith Community Nursing Home, Dunseith, North Dakota.

Services were held at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, with Rev. Gerald McCarthy and Rev. Francis Hueller officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Dunseith, ND.

The pallbearers were Rick Raygo, Michael Allery, Vernon DeCoteau, Carl Dean Keplin, Dennis J. DeCoteau and Newton Little Soldier. The honorary pallbearers were her friends and relatives.

Sister Mary Anthony Rodgers was the organist. Bernadine White, Richard Keplin and Sister Judith Emge sang.

Ernestine Catherine Allery was born March 29, 1919 to Joseph and Mary (Nadeau) Allery at Belcourt. She was raised in the Dunseith-Belcourt area and attended school at Fort Totten and Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. She married Frank L. Allery on October 12, 1937 at Belcourt. Following their marriage they lived at Dunseith. In 1952 they moved to Coleharbor and from 1955 to 1960 they lived in Williston. They then returned to Dunseith. She was employed as a nurse's aide at San Haven for 18 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Dunseith. Her husband died May 27, 1979.

Survivors are five daughters: Beatrice Little Soldier of Golden Valley, Jean Natwick of Dickinson, Judy Azure of Bismarck, and Jeanette DeCoteau and Darlene DeCoteau, both of Dunseith; 4 sons: Clifford, Richard and Dallas, all of Dunseith, and Hubert of Valley City; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters: Cecelia Parisien and Elizabeth Keplin, both of Belcourt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Francis, four sisters and two brothers.

A rosary service was held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
