Son of the late Daniel and May (Anderson) Coffey, he was born August 30, 1920 in Newburgh.
He married his wife Jeannette Bullis on May 11, 1946 in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. Jeannette survives at home.
Daniel proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II where he received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a retired Crane Operator for Operating Engineers Local 825; was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his wife Jeannette, he is survived by his grandchildren: Daniel, Kevin and Colleen; great-granddaughter, Rosemary; and daughter-in-law, Frances Coffey. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel M. Coffey and grandson, Jason M. Coffey.
A Mass of christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 16 in Our lady of the Lake Chapel, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
