Carol May Platt Birrell 1934 ~ 2010 Our angel mother, Carol May Platt Birrell, passed away December 13, 2010 at age 76. Surrounded by her loving family, words cannot express the love and loss we feel for our sweet mother. She loved all. She loved well. Carol is survived by her five children, Robbie (Tom) Sessions, Kearns; Jim (Kris) Birrell, Alpine; Kathy (Ron) Hewitt, Sandy; Cindy (Mike) Bates, West Jordan; Julie (Kevin) Harr, Tooele; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma (Bill) Cummins, Lynette (Von) Gardiner; brother, Jim Platt. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, James J. Birrell; parents, Nina Eggett and Charles Platt; siblings, Norman Platt and Gayle Osborn; granddaughters, Emily Ann and Sherilyn Kristine Winegar; great grandson, Rameses Nusbaum. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale. A viewing for family and friends will take place prior to the services from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Interment, Bluffdale City Cemetery. We love you mom and will miss your sweet hugs, your unconditional love, and incredible wisdom.
