John F. Lorah, 93, and Marjorie V. (Hunsicker) Lorah, 91, both formerly of Exeter Township, went to be with the Lord from Berkshire Center in Exeter Township. John passed away Dec. 12, 2010, and Marjorie passed away Dec. 14, 2010.
John was born in Stony Creek Mills, a son of the late John F. and Mary I. ( Babb) Lorah. Marjorie was born to the late John W. and Emma E. (Grubb) Hunsicker in Linfield, Pa.
John was a 1935 graduate of Mount Penn High School.
He worked as a pattern designer at Rockwell International until his retirement. Previously, he worked at the Berkshire Knitting Mills and Textile Machine Works.
During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. He was a decorated soldier and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars.
He was a member of the Caterpillar Club and the China-Burma-India Hump Pilots Association.
Marjorie was a 1937 graduate of Pottstown High School and a 1947 graduate of Thomas Jefferson Medical College.
During World War II, she served in the Army Signal Corps, from 1942 to 1944. She started work at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in 1949 as a staff nurse. In 1965, she served as a supervisor and staff coordinator and in 1979, she was a nursing staffing assistant until her retirement in 1988.
The were both members of Wesley United Methodist Church, 101 W. Windsor St., Reading, PA 19601.
John served on various councils, as a Sunday school superintendent and was a Christ Servant Minister and a choir member. Marjorie was a past Sunday school teacher was very active in the UM Women's Organization and was a choir member.
John and Marjorie are survived by their daughter, Cheryl L., and her husband, Carl O. Abbott, Exeter Township.
John is also survived by his sister, Mary Jane (Lorah) Riegel, Reading.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Marvin, Harry Paul and Erma Lorah.
Marjorie was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice (Hun-sicker) Kissling-Ruffner.
They are also survived by their nieces nephews and their families.
Services for John and Marjorie will be held at Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton, on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
