Mr. Ballard was survived by his partner, Eddie Jones, San Antonio, Texas; his parents, John R. and Alice Ballard (both since deceased), San Marcos, Texas; his uncle Neil Ballard and wife Carol, Austin, Texas; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Margarite B. Parker Chapel, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, the Reverend Raymond Judd presided.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requested contributions in his memory to: Alamo Heights United Methodist Church Organ Completion Project, 825 E. Basse Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209 or Trinity University Organ Endowment Fund, 1 Trinity Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212.
