Devall, who was a resident of Baton Rouge all his life, had been a foreman of the pipe fitters at Standard Oil company. He was affiliated with Standard Oil for the past 33 years. He was a member of the Monte Sano Presbyterian Church as well as an elder. He was also a member of the Istrouma Lodge No. 414, F. and A.M.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel Sides, and a foster son, Jimmy Prestridge, of Baton Rouge, and five sisters, all of Baton Rouge, Mrs. L. R. (Idell) Babin, Mrs. O.D. (Stella) Johnson, Mrs. George Shelton, Mrs. Gillie (Myrtie) Crumholt, and Mrs. Gertie Nolen.
