James D. Farless Sr., 87, of Vero Beach, died April 13, 2001, at his residence after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Farless was born June 8, 1913, in Cave Springs, Ga. He moved to Vero Beach 45 years ago from Wauchula.
He was retired from The New Piper Aircraft Inc. in Vero Beach. He also worked for the Winn-Dixie Store in Vero Beach.
He was a member of the Southside Church of God in Vero Beach, and a minister for the Church of God Prophecy for 62 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia; four sons, Oscar Farless, of Anchorage, Alaska, Win Farless, of Fort Lauderdale, Jerry Farless, of Clayton, Ala., and James Farless Jr., of Sebastian; one daughter, Joyce Higdon of Jordan, Mich.; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
