Violet I. Bennett, daughter of Ira and Blanche (Landis) Bennett, was born June 11, 1916 at LaHarpe, IL. where she grew up and began her schooling. She later moved with her family to Courtenay, ND, where she finished her schooling, graduating from Courtenay High School. She then moved with her family to the Wadena, MN area. On October 1, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leo B.Boyer in St. Cloud. The couple made their home in the Wadena area, where they farmed until 1941, when they moved to the Cyrus area. They continued to farm near Cyrus until retiring in 1970, and moving into Morris. Leo died March 4, 1974. On December 10, 1977, Violet married Henry Dosdall in Starbuck. The couple made their home in Morris until Henry's death on October 7, 1981. Violet moved to Starbuck in 1982, where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Violet was an active member of the St. Petri/Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, and had also worked with the church's ladies aid group. She had also been a member of a homemaker's club in Cyrus. Some of her hobbies included playing cards and helping other people with anything they needed.
Mrs. Boyer died Thursday, June 13, 1996 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 80 years.
