Ruth E. Phelps, 88, Monticello, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at the Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center of Monticello.
She was born on June 6, 1922 in Francesville to George Roy and Esther Leona Doll Anderson. She married Robert D. "Bob" Phelps on Nov. 23, 1947 in Francesville. He survives.
She is also survived by sons, Jerry (Jean) Phelps, Monticello, James (Joni) Phelps, Bluffton and Tommy (Susan) Phelps, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kimberly (Greg) Phelps-Rusk, West Lafayette, Julie (Dan) Phelps-Oldenkamp, Monticello, Alyssa (Samuel) Phelps-Chumbley, Carmel and Christian (Sarah) Phelps, Monticello; great-grandchildren, Camella Oldenkamp, Connor Oldenkamp, Gatlin Phelps and Emily Phelps; brothers, Merl (Marty) Anderson, Carlsbad, N.M. and Don (Phyllis) Anderson, Granburg, Texas and a niece, Mary Lee (Eldon) Gutwein, Monticello.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Grossenbacher and a brother, John Anderson.
