MULLINS - Genaire "Jerry" Dove, 73, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 16, 2010 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Dillon County to the late Reuben and Inez Morris Dove. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly having served in Vietnam where he received numerous awards. He was a Shriner and a Scottish Rites Mason.
Jerry was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by three brothers, Reuben Dove, Sr., Legrand Dove and Curtis Dove.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Cox Dove of Mullins; one son, Charles Wayne Dove of Apex, NC; one daughter, Pam Stone of Mullins; two stepsons, Dennis Michael Dew of Loris and Stephen Gereld Dew of Tennessee; one stepdaughter, Karen L. Dew of North Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Robert Dove and his companion Kathy of Florence, and Wilmer Dove of Summerville, SC, one sister, Betty D. Byrd and her husband Neal of Mullins; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. in Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins.
