RETIRED MINER FOUND DEAD HERE
Peter Seber, a retired Kellogg miner, was found dead outside his cabin on Ashley Creek Thursday evening by Bill Hart and Wade Dodge as they returned from a hunting trip. Seber had been living in this area for about a year and was assisting with the construction of a new Kingdom Hall for the Jehovah's Witnesses on Woodland Flat.
Sheriff Wally Britton, who investigated, said death was due to natural causes, probably because of a heart attack or stroke. When Seber fell, he struck his head on a 2x4, but Sheriff Britton said he believed he had died previously.
Hart and Dodge went to investigate when they failed to see him around the cabin during the day.
Survivors include a brother in Rexburg, Idaho.
The body was taken to Shrider Funeral Home in Plains for burial arrangements.
