Clinton -- Mrs. Carrie Howson, 88, of 1210 S. 9th St., died this morning in a Clinton nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Bragonier-Fay funeral home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Rev. Harrison Dawes of First Methodist church and Rev. Theodore Anderson of Immanuel Lutheran church will officiate. Mrs. W.G. Bockel will be organist and Mrs. John H. Miller soloist.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Ronald Hebdon, Orville Healess, Clkifford Holle, Roy Howson Jr, Robert Kaster and Dwight Webber. Burial will be in Prairie Union Cemetery near Low Moor.
Carrie Barker was born Feb. 22, 1879 near Low Moor, the daughter of Joseph and Harriet Dawson Barker. She was married to Ira F. Howson, April 21, 1898. He died in 1927. Mrs. Howson lived in the Low Moor area until moving to Clinton 15 years ago. She was a member of First Methodist church and its Dorcas circle.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Webber, Mrs. Clarence (Lucile) Healless, and Mrs. Harold (Ruby) Holle, all of Clinton; one son, Roy D. of West Bend, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
