Alice E. (Krieger) Damm, 87, of Peru, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in Peru with Rev. Harold Datzman OSB officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m.
Mrs. Damm was born on July 13, 1923 in LaSalle to Louis and Agnes (Kopczynski) Krieger. She married Henry V. Damm on June 15, 1946 in St. Patrick's Church in LaSalle. She worked for Westclox and Bader Blass. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Peru, Mothers Club, Alter and Rosary Society, and Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Donald) Staats of Spring Valley; four grandsons, Mathew A. Staats of Spring Valley, Ryan L. Staats of Chambersburg, PA, John K. Staats of Chambersburg, PA, and Luke A. Staats of Peru; one great-grandson, Jacob Bartley; one brother Albert (Bev) Krieger of Rochelle; one sister, Virginia (Ted) Slimko of LaSalle; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry on October 15, 2007; one brother, Johnnie and one sister, Irene.
Memorials may be directed to family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
