ADA - George E. Steiger, 89, Ada, a retired farmer, died late Sunday in the Ada Nursing Home after a two year illness.
Born in Bucyrus in 1867, he lived in Ada 55 years. He married Effie Hammer in 1906, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Doris, of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Jump, Nevada, Ohio, Mrs. Amelia Myers, Bucyrus and Mrs. Martha Denninger, Galion.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Christ with Rev. Turner Holt officiating. Interment, under direction of the Preston Funeral Home, will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
