Louise McGahey Doolittle Edmondson

Louise M. Doolittle Edmondson, 103, of Philadelphia, MS, and formerly of Calhoun City, passed away December 7, 2010, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be Thursday, December 9, at 2 o'clock pm at Bethany Baptist Church in Slate Springs with visitation from 1-2 pm in the church fellowship hall. Reverend Lawrence Poole of Philadelphia will officiate.
She was born on September 15, 1907, to Oscar B. and Maggie Shewmake McGahey in Webster County. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Arlin McGahey, Wallace McGahey, Louis McGahey, Eugene McGahey and Garth McGahey, and her sister, Cora Mae Cole; as well as her husbands,
Everette Doolittle and Aubrey Edmondson and her daughter Margaret D. Smith Sullivan.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Bobby Smith (Millie) of Philadelphia, MS, Thomas Smith (Joan) of Lake Wales, FL and Beth Smith Breeland (Woody) of Brookhaven as well as her great grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Josh Smith, Brennan Breeland, Ryan Breeland and AnnaRachel Breeland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, former students, caretakers and friends.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Calhoun City, where she taught Sunday school and was president of the WMU. She attended Trinity Baptist Church, Philadelphia. She was a member of the DAR. She was a long time educator having taught kindergarten in Calhoun City into her 70's before becoming the Nutrition Site Manager of the Three Rivers Area Agency on Aging until retiring when she was 82.
