WALNUT SPRINGS - Walter Ragland Burns, Jr., 62, an automobile mechanic, passed away on Saturday, Oct 30, 2010, in Walnut Springs. A graveside service was held at 11 a m on Wednesday, Nov 3 in Acton Cemetery in Acton, Texas.
Mr Burns was born on April 4, 1948, in Ballinger, Texas, to Walter Ragland Burns, Sr. and Joy Ferguson Burns. He served in the U S Navy and was a former resident of Glen Rose. He was prededed in death by a stepson, Jack Ashworth.
Survivors include: his wife-Amelia Burns of Walnut Springs; daugher-Chanda Burns of Whitney; grandchildren-Jonathan Gibson of Whitney, Megan Gibson of Whitney, Jamie Ashworth of Morgan, Chessica Ashworth of Morgan, Haley Thedford of Whitney, Sarah Ashworth and Brandon Dale Ashworth, both of Philadelphia, PA; Sister-Patsy Green and husband John, of Rusk; niece and nephew-Brooke Green and Brad Green; stepsons-W D Saunders of Levelland, Derrell Wyane Saunders and wife, Paula, of Kerens, Jimmy Gregg Ashworth of Whitney, and Jerry Ashworth and wife, Cynthia, of Morgan.
