Helen E. Fife Leming, 94, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers: VFW Post 8235. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Helen was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Weatherford to William Fife and Lenora Mae Rowe. She was a Baptist and and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 8235 and was president from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. She portrayed "Minnie Pearl" at many military functions over the years. She was very loved and will be missed by her dog, Tena. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. "Clem" Leming; brothers, Bill, Elbert, Fred, Oscar and Robert; sisters, Ollie, Rosina, Dessie and Catherine; and an infant sister. Survivors: Nephews, Fred Sullivan of Arkansas, Russell Fife Sr. of Florida and Jerry Fife of Harper; nieces, Dorothy Ruth Hopper of Fort Worth and June Coalson of Victoria; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and very special friends, Chuck and Shelia Shoe, John Sessions and Ricky Vick.
