Betty Lou Lewter, 82, of Callisburg died April 21 at North Texas Medical Center
in Gainesville.Services were held April 23 at the Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Rick Isham officiating. Burial was in the New Resthaven Cemetery
under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.
History
Betty Lou Lewter was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Dexter to John Guy and Susan Clark
Layton. She married William Grady Lewter April 27, 1952 at Vilott Baptist Church in
Callisburg. She worked as a cook for the Callisburg Independent School District and
as a nursing home aide, as well as being a homemaker for her family.
Survivors
Betty Lou Lewter is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Sieger of Whitesboro; sister,
Mary Sue Williams of Dexter; brother, J.C. Hickson of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren;
and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
sister, Martha Ann Overbey; and brother, Aubrey Layton
