George A. Peterson, 91, of Quincy, formerly of Bushnell and Table Grove, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
He was born Nov. 14, 1919 in Bradford to Ross and Lois (Taylor) Peterson. He married Frances Ruth Bostic in 1949. She passed away July 23, 1983 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include one son, Sterling Thompson of Missouri, and one brother, Ivan (Shirley) Peterson of Princeville. George was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a Pole Man for Mid Century Telephone Co. in Canton from 1962 until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of the Bushnell VFW and the National Association for the blind.
