Around 1876, Daniel decided to come back home to KY. He married Anna Gabbard, daughter of William Gabbard and Loucinda Robinson, on July 20, 1878. She was known as "Annie."
They had ten children, but three died young. Their daughter Martha (born about 1882) married John Taulbee, but she died sometime before 1900. Their sons Floyd and Samuel were born and died, sometime between 1880 and 1900 and were buried here, in unmarked graves.
