She was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Elmwood, the daughter of Samuel O. and Bessie I. Meeker Kastner. She married William R. Singley on March 28, 1951, in Manito. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2007.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kenneth Kastner, Oscar Kastner and Harvey Kastner.
Betty is survived by three sons, Steve (Kim) Singley of Manito, Gene (Sue) Singley of Pekin and Carl (Dawn) Singley of Tremont; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Flora Gebhardt of Pekin; and two brothers, Robert (Leona) Kastner of San Jose and Roland (Diane) Kastner of Minnesota.
Betty and her husband farmed in rural Manito for over 32 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she participated in the church choir, Church Ladies League and the Hannah Circle. Betty loved her Lord, church and family.
Interment will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
