DAWSON - Robert L. "Bob" Abrams, 72, of Dawson, IL died at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born on March 27, 1938 in Hillsboro, IL to Don and Marie Harmon Abrams. He married Joyce I. McCulley on April 6, 1958. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving Bob are his wife; one daughter, Teresa Downing of Mechanicsburg; one son, Jeff (Leigh) Abrams of Newberry, FL; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa and Lindsey Downing and Brenden, Savannah, and Jana Abrams; one sister, Helen (Gil) Kean of Springfield; one brother, Jack Abrams of Madison, WI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was baptized in 1942, Carlock Masonic Lodge AF & AM #904, Springfield Consistory, and Ansar Shrine.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.

Lie-in-State: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Thomas Christell officiating. Burial will be held at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Grace Food Pantry, Grace Trust, or the American Cancer Society .
