Brain Tumor is Fatal to Child

John Roscoe Howe, 4 year old son of Lebert and Irene Lahugh Howe, residing in Monroe county five miles north of Heltonville, died at 2 o'clock Sunday morning at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was admitted July 15.

His death was contributed to a brain tumor. He had been ill since last fall.

He was born in Monroe county February 19, 1944.

Survivors, besides the parents, are a brother, Lebert Jr; a sister, Wanda Fay; two half-brothers, Edward Dale Howe and Joseph Lee Howe, and a half sister, Geneva Rose Howe, all at home; the paternal grandfather, Roll Howe, of Monroe county, and the maternal grandfather, George Lahugh, of Lawrence county.

The body was brought to the Leston Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville Sunday for burial preparations and this afternoon was taken to the family residence to lie in state.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Gilgal Baptist Church, located a mile north of Heltonville, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Everett Turpin officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Len Sowders.

Interment will be in the Gilgal Cemetery.
