Mr Freeman died peacefully while sitting in his chair at his home in Russellville Friday night of last week, Feb.5 1937.
Edwin was 88 years of age and lived in Franklin County all his life. His birth place was Newburg. He was a member of the Baptist Church, had been a Mason fifty years, and served 6 years as a Judicial Judge and 4 more years as clerk of the
circuit court of Franklin County. He had many friends throughout this section.
Surviving are five sons; W.E.Freeman and Hugh Pride Freeman of Russellville; James G. Freeman of Sipsey, Alabama; Arthur B. Freeman
of New Orleans; four daughters, Mrs Cecila Spraggins of Phil
Cambell; Mrs J. H. Hamilton of Russellville; Mrs Jas. Scharnagle, of Spruce Pine, and Mrs J.L. Blesdsoe of Albertville; two sisters Mrs Lena Kennedy of Booneeville,
Miss. and Mrs Joe Thompson, of Cherokee, Alabama; several
grandchildren, among whom is Miss Louise Freeman, of Russellville.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ in Russellville, Sunday afternoon at 2o'clock by Elder Granville Tyler, with interment in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Underwood Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers were S.A. Allen, Charles McNatt, James F. Hester. W.B. Mahan, Horace Bradford and Berry Shedd.
Honarary pallbearers were Charles Kimbrough, Foster Gavin, W. C. Sparks, J.W. Mansell, C.E. Wilson Jr. W.H. Key, M.C. Hester and James I. Orman.
