Cogar, Okla. January 23, 1916

Assistant Superintendent J.M. Conner appointed J.D. Payton, Jonah Tracy and Mrs. C.C. Cole a committee to prepare resolutions for Glenwood Sunday School on the death of Superintedent D. R. Holcomb. The committee have prepared and now desire to submit the following resolutions.
Whereas, On January 18 A.D. 1916 our beloved Superintendent, Brother D.R. Holcomb, was taken from our midst by the hand of death, and while our hearts are bowed down with grief and our loss seems hard to bear, be it. Resolved that we recognize the will of God being fulfilled in the cause of his will that we humbly submit (3 lines unreadable)
Regard and realizing that a very ------- ------ of the people. Brought under ---------- of the church, are recruited from the Sunday school field. That we are further resolved To consecrate ourselves anew to the work he loved so well and in which he labored so able and earnestly, that we imitate his example of faithfulness at all times, and like him merit the promise of the Angel to the churches "Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life".
