DEATH OF JONATHAN MOYER
We were impressibly pained to learn of the death of DR. Moyer of Logansville Clinton County which occurred Wednesday morning at Lock Haven.
Dr. Moyer was a native of Miles township & a brother to the venerable Henry, John & Reuben.
On reaching man's estate & soon after completing his medical studies he settled in Sugar Valley where he practiced except for filling the office of prothonotary in Clinton County. He ranked high as a physician.
In the early years Sugar Valley was afflicted with typhoid fever, it was new to the area & was known as Sugar Valley fever & it ravaged the community. He found a new method of treating this disease.
The day before his death he went to Lock Haven meeting with Governor Curtin.
His funeral was on Sunday. He was a genial, kindhearted & intelligent man. May he rest in peace.
