She was born June 22, 1921, in Blackwell, Okla., to William and Cora (Miller) Keeley. She grew up on the farm near Blackwell and graduated from high school there. She moved to Wichita, Kan., and attended a business college.
She met her husband to be, Howard E. Schneider, in Wichita. Howard was in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and they were married in Fort Leavenworth in January 1944. They moved to Fremont in 1963, having lived here previously. Howard died on Feb. 13, 1969.
June married Earl Christensen on June 15, 1971. They lived on his farm north of Fremont until retiring and moving into Fremont in 1992.
June and Earl were members of Salem Lutheran Church of Fremont.
Survivors include: her husband, Earl; three daughters, Brenda (and husband, Larry) Kruse of Omaha, Colleen (and husband, Robert) Pawling of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Karla (and husband, David) Schloemer of Fremont; a stepdaughter, Lynda (and husband, Sam) Vodvarka of Fremont; two sisters-in-law, Betty Weiss and Virginia Onserud, both of Kenosha, Wis.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
A memorial fund will be established .
