Funeral services for Leon E. Simank, 82, of 602 Jackson St, Brenham, were scheduled for 2pm Sunday, Jan 26 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Moerbe officiation. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Simank died Friday, Jan. 24, 1986 at 1:19am in a local hospital.

He was born Nov. 24, 1903 in Industry, Texas, the son of Charles A. and Zulie Knolle Simank. He was baptized in Industry and confirmed in Brenham. He attended Brenham public schools and the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Service.

He was married to Josephine Rogge on July 10, 1942, by the Rev. Theo R. Streng in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. His wife preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 1984.

Mr. Simank was a funeral director.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Graham Lodge No. 20 AF&AM, Brenham Commandery No. 15 Knights Templar, Grand Council of Royal and Select Mastrs of Texas, Arabia Temple, A&A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Bluebonnet Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge No. 979, Sons of Herman Lodge No. (?6), Brenham Maifest Association, Washington County EMS Advisory Committee, and Brenham Rotary Club.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Leon Jr. and Margaret Simank of La Porte, Texas; two grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Simank and Christopher Leon, both of La Porte; and a brother and sister-in-law, Burney E. and Della (Siss) Simank of Brenham; a brother-in-law, Edgar Matchett of Brenham; and a nephew, Charles B. Simank of Belton, Texas.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded by his parents, two sisters and a brother-in-law.

Pallbearers will be Dr W.S. Houston, P.J. Lemm, Woodrow Wilson, Robert Kolkhorst, Wilfred Dietrich, Buster Appel, Carol Schlottmann and Frank Becker.

All friends will be considered honorary pallbearers.

Thos who wish may give memorials to the building fund of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
